Safe Care for Mom and Baby

Chiropractic care is safe for the mother and the baby. Dr. Woodle will educate you at each step during an adjustment so you understand how the treatment is working and what to expect.

During your pregnancy she will use the Webster Technique. It’s done on a drop table, and uses no pressure, and does not employ rotational techniques. The method is safe and gentle for you and the baby. It’s simply about correcting pelvic and sacral alignment in mothers via gentle, spinal manipulations.

Why Chiropractic Is Important During Pregnancy

The ligaments that support the uterus are attached to the pelvis. This controls not only the shape of the uterus, but also the position of it. Since this is going to be home to your baby for nine months, we want to ensure that home is in the very best position to help the baby grow, develop and engage properly into the pelvis when the time is right.

When this area is well-adjusted, it helps the mom-to-be feel a lot more comfortable and makes pregnancy more enjoyable. It will also help moms better control the function of muscle contraction, and the direction on muscle contraction. If the uterus can push down and out rather than in the wrong direction, it’s more effective and more efficient.

It can help make labor and delivery better and easier on the mom as well.

What Treatment Looks Like

A treatment schedule for chiropractic care during pregnancy can look different for each mom-to-be, depending on when they begin and what symptoms they may be feeling.

If you start from the early stages of pregnancy, Dr. Woodle will typically see you once a month, and then slowly increase frequency the further along you are. By 36 weeks, many moms find once-a-week visits to greatly improve their well-being and prepare them for delivery.
