Cold Laser Therapy in Lee’s Summit

Using laser therapy on armCold laser therapy is a treatment that can help inflammatory conditions. Perhaps you have a young athlete in the house with soft tissue injuries, or maybe you continue to have pain following a motor vehicle accident that occurred several years ago. Ankle sprains, tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, rotator cuff, and pinched nerves—whatever the case may be, cold laser therapy might be a good fit to complement your treatment plan at Mommy and Me Chiropractic.

Research has shown that treatment can improve healing time, reduce pain, increase circulation, and decrease swelling.

How Does it Work?

Cold laser therapy can help speed up healing time while reducing the inflammation that’s caused by injuries, both current and old. Its extended wavelengths help to trigger the body’s response to start the healing process. The treatment also promotes blood flow, which reduces inflammation more quickly.

Laser therapy delivers light energy units from red and infrared laser radiation, called photons, to damaged cells. The photons that are absorbed by the cells stimulate the mitochondria to speed up production of ATP (purest form of energy created by the body). From here, the healing begins.

Treatment takes between three and 10 minutes, and is typically scheduled as an adjunct treatment to your existing chiropractic plan, typically to help speed areas of your treatment and give them a boost.

How Long Does Treatment Last?

The length of treatment depends highly on each patient. You may start with a specific area three times a week, for two weeks, and improve to once a week appointments for two or three weeks afterward.

Help Your Body Heal Itself

Laser therapy can help the body heal, and stimulates the body to release endorphins, making it a legitimate, proven method of pain relief. It also increases lymphatic draining and the body’s natural blood circulation, which will help you release toxins and help your body’s muscles relax, preventing fatigue.
